Inventory of Captain Edwards Home
The following inventory of goods was taken at Captain Edwards' Back
Street home in 1751. Items underlined still survive today.
The Front Lower Room: clock, looking glass, mahogany table, 12
cain chairs, Capt. Edwards' picture, one picture over the chimney, a
couch and table.
The Middle Room: two small oval pictures, Capt. Evans'
picture,
King William & Queen Mary's pictures, one small black walnut table.
The Front Chamber: one large looking glass, one chest of
drawers
and table, one silk bed, bed bolster, two pillows, silk quilt and
bedstead, blankets and one tea table.
The Middle Chamber: one large looking glass, two oval
pictures,
12 cain chairs, chest of drawers and table, 1 red "Harrileen" bed and
Sach bedstead, curtains, head cloth and teaster, one pair of Holland
sheets, two great chairs, seven flower pots and one Coat of Arms.
The Kitchen: brass candlesticks, 23 dishes, one cheese plate,

plates, one brass kettle, 21 pans, one large brass skillet, one copper
sauce pan, one warming pan, two spits, one pair andirons, one gridiron,
tongs, shovel, table, six chairs.
The Little Room: one large Bible, 12 books of divinity, 38
small
books, one gun, one sword.
The Garrett: one blue rug, one bed, two pair of blankets, one
child's chair, one old table, one pair of brass tongs, one large
bedstead with canvas bottom, shovel and andiron.
The Warehouse: one great cain chair, one large table, two
maple
tables, two old warming pans, two saws, one copper stew pan.
